"Do you know what they did to my brother?" Sansa Stark asks, "And my mother?"
That's right, the third Game of Thrones trailer is out! Watch it here.
Last season's Red Wedding has not been forgotten. As Roose Bolton strides across the screen while Sansa continues with, "I lie awake all night, thinking about how they died," it becomes clear that the north will not soon forget, though with the heavy hitters of House Stark dead, revenge might take some time. And while Arya Stark is under the watch of Sandor Cleagane, Sansa is very clearly still trapped in King's Landing, with nothing left but her wits to protect her.
The Lannisters seem sturdier than most, now that Jaime has returned; but any fan of George R. R. Martin knows that nothing ever goes well for anyone. Tyrion says, "We mustn't dissappoint father," and yet the viewer is giving the feeling that he has something much worse than disappointment on his mind.
House Targaryen continues to make it's way to King's Landing, with Daenerys and her dragons at the head. "I will answer in justice with justice," she says, and while I'm not entirely sure what that's supposed to mean, I'm sure it probably involves lighting something or someone on fire. Oh, House Targaryen. Will your crazy adventures never cease?
Also notable in the trailer is one Oberyn Martel, who appears striding at Cersei's side at one point in the trailer, and then in bed with Ellaria Sand at another point. In bed with Ellaria and Oberyn is an unnamed male, which means that like in the books, Oberyn will be queer.
Game of Thrones season 4 premieres at 9pm on April 4th on HBO.
