Sartorially speaking, runway shows carry a plethora of influences and theatricality. One of my personal delights is finding the union of geek and fashion worlds. So imagine my delight when I spotted several DC doppelgängers on the catwalks of London, Paris and Milan for the 2014 Pre-Fall and Fall seasons. Check out the super-powered looks below!
Raven in Atelier Versace- The daughter of Trigon serves dark side realness in this dramatic purple hooded number. The Atelier collection was all about the drama, hoods, capes, decadence and sexy done in traditional Versace fashion. Add dark magic, and Raven's natural shading abilities and you've got a collection worth dying for.
Nightwing in Alexander Wang- Wang has always been one of the cool kids in the world of fashion, and while the Boy Wonder may not have been allowed to sit at such a table, Nightwing most certainly is. And just like Nightwing, this collection was inspired by tech, modern and effortless cool.
Harley Quinn in Alexander McQueen- If there's one legendary designer that matches the eccentricity of Harley, it's McQueen. It's quirky, it's bondage, it's sex and it's unconventional. And no need for "Mr. J" to make an appearance in this collection, Quinn holds her own just fine.
Zatanna in Saint Laurent Paris - Zatanna's look is an obvious play on the role of sexes in magic, and while traditional menswear has taken a feministic movement womenswear has gone in reversed offering sexy, but menswear inspired looks that are just as spellbinding as Zatanna's backwards magic.
Beast Boy in Thom Browne- Now this look is a little less literal and more subjective. The Browne show was filled with a runway filled with animal headed looks, such as the badger, the elephant and the crow. And maybe our favorite animal shifter isn't this dapper in the comics, but that's whats cosplay's for, right?
