Come party with the Chicago chapter of Geeks OUT as we throw the most epic queer geek party Chicago has ever seen! In honor of C2E2, we're throwing the innaugural Mutant High Prom!
"Most gays didn't have the high school prom experience they wanted, and throw the geek factor in, and that probably made [the experience] just as tough," Chicago Events coordinator Danny Bernardo said in an interview with RedEye Chicago. "Mutant High is obviously an allusion to the Xavier Institute in ‘X-Men,' but since so many geek stories (especially those with LGBT themes and undertones) were set in high school, we thought a prom would be fitting. So, whether you went to Xavier's, Hogwarts, Sunnydale High or Morning Glories Academy—you'll have an awesome time."
The event will feature prom photos provided by a/s/l media and an attendee-elected cosplay prom court announced at the stroke of midnight! So Billy's grab a Teddy, Willow's grab a Tara, and come dance, drink, and mingle the night away at the first ever Mutant High Prom!
