We're SO excited about our upcoming event, Dream Weaver. It's going to be a fantastic exhibition (new art daily!) and a great party.
While it's immediately apparent why Sigourney Weaver the Star, the Actress, is so revered by the geek community, Sigourney Weaver the Woman is certainly no slouch in being admirable and fabulous.
A longtime ally of the LGBT community, Weaver gained wide recognition for playing real-life mother Mary Griffith in 2009's Prayers for Bobby, giving many thoughtful, persuasive interviews on bullying, gay rights, and marriage equality while on press for the tv movie.
She won a GLAAD Award for the performance. Here is her moving speech:

Here the lady is, being fun and very queenly with Zoe Saldana and that girl from Lost (right?), headlining a panel at the 2009 San Diego Comic-Con, "Wonder Women: Female Power Icons in Pop Culture."
In 2010, Sigourney teamed with Hollywood's original Scream Queen, Jamie Lee Curtis for the multi-generational comedy, You Again. It's cute how they argue over whose movie was scarier!
Sigourney Weaver also starred in 1988's Gorillas in the Mist, earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. Look at her with a baby gorilla!
