  • Following last week's news of the (intended) bisexuality of Thor: Ragnarok's Valkyrie, actress Tessa Thompson revealed that a scene featuring a woman leaving Valkyrie's bedroom was shot, but failed to make the final cut. Save the queerness for the Blu-Ray extras, I guess... but if you ask me, deleted scenes aren't canon, so we're still waiting for some meaningful representation.

  • In related Marvel Cinematic Universe news, Thompson, Scarlett Johansson, Brie Larson, Zoe Saldana, and several other MCU actresses pitched an all-female Marvel film, but it's anybody's guess whether it'll actually happen. Hopefully, the success of Wonder Woman is enough to open the floodgates for Strong Female Characters.

  • Though Rod Serling is sadly no longer with us to provide his debonair charms, CBS All Access (the streaming service that's also home to Star Trek: Discovery) is developing a revival of his iconic 1959-64 SF/horror series The Twilight Zone. There were already two previous revivals in the 1980s and early 2000s; this one has Get Out director Jordan Peele in talks to produce.
