- Entertainment Weekly offered up a plethora of coverage of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, including looks at the meeting of Luke and Rey, new creatures and characters, and Carrie Fisher's final appearance as Leia.
- Long-discussed, but never actually materializing, an adaptation of William Gibson's Neuromancer (the 1984 cyberpunk sci-fi classic that's influenced decades of pop culture, not to mention popularizing "cyberspace" as a word and concept) may actually be happening, courtesy of Deadpool director Tim Miller.
- Jennifer Lawrence is a highbrow scream queen in the trailer for mother!, the new psychological horror-thriller from director Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan). You'd be hard-pressed to discern much about the actual plot from this trailer, but suffice to say that Lawrence's lover Javier Bardem is apparently up to no good, and Michelle Pfeiffer gets to be super creepy. As for me, a huge fan of the director (yes, that includes the divisive Noah and The Fountain), I'd probably be there opening weekend no matter what.
