The apocalypse is upon us! By which I mean the X-Men: Apocalypse trailer and it’s full of X-Men, explosions, bald telepaths and your favorite chili-fry-eating mall babe!

A gaggle of Geeks Out commentators presents a Roundtable Review of the X-Men: Apocalypse trailer.

Aaron Tablak (@BobLoblaw324): I wish they'd straight up rebooted instead of sticking to the First Class chronology. Shouldn't many of these characters be middle-aged by now? Still, you gotta love 80’s Storm.

 Mother nature is pissed.

Adam Sass(@TheAdamSass): Happy to see Moira back in! Other than that it looks incredibly overstuffed with characters. I know this usually plagues X-Men films, but it's really pinging on this one.

"Air raid freshmen X-Men!"

"Air raid freshmen X-men!"

Ian Carlos Crawford (@ianxcarlos): Honestly, I was hoping to see more of the newer X-Men being introduced (or re-introduced) in this movie - we only get to see Jubilee (who is my special favorite), Psylocke, and Nightcrawler for all of 2 seconds. I love Jennifer Lawrence but I wish she was playing a more important character - Mystique isn’t important enough to be such a main character in all these movies and she’s not that interesting? I wanted to see the newer X-Men in action - not the same X-Men we’ve seen in the last two movies. All that being said, I will still absolutely see this movie. I do think Apocalypse looked a lot better and a lot less like Ivan Ooze in this trailer than he did in the promo images. Also, how hot is Michael Fassbender?

Hooooooott!!!

John Balash (@johnbalash): Jubiliee—yay! Angel is hot! Xavier is bald and stylish. I think this may be the apocalypse for X-Men movies though—I’m underwhelmed by the trailer but will still see it in theatres.

Touched by an Angel? Yes please!

Jon Tully (@HeyMrTullyman ): Things I'm excited about: the scope is adventurous (ancient Egypt to the present), the cast is huge and diverse, and the messianic tones to the story are intriguing.

Things I'm leery about: it seems like Singer is trying to use this film as a bridge between the First Class films and the original trilogy. It is confusing to know if the original 3 films still even exist or if they've been erased after the events of Days of Future Past. Do character changes stick or not (like Angel's metallic wings)?

Mystique: I'm glad she's back on the good guy roster, but she is only pictured as blonde-haired and blue-eyed. What happened to the "mutant and proud" attitude that set her apart?

Storm: Is she a bad guy? It seems they're setting her up as a Horseman of Apocalypse...

You raise me up!!!!

Kevin Gilligan (@Gilligan_McJew): It seems like the third movie in these trilogies (X-Men: The Last Stand, and this one) love to destroy bridges.

It's not what it looks like they're just making room for more mixed-use developments.

Tom Lotito (@tmlotito ): 80's Storm is exciting for sure. I like a lot of the First Class actors, so I hope they're not lost in the shuffle with a sillier villain like Apocalypse.  Even though Days of Future Past had 4,000 characters, they only focused on a handful so I think it'll be fine.

X-Men Apocalypse will be in theatres May 27, 2016 and the full trailer can be found here; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COvnHv42T-A
