Jessica Jones coming to Netflix soon

We've been teased with production stills from the Netfilx show starring Kristen Ritter as Jessica Jones, but when is it premiering and when can we expect to see the other Marvel shows promised to us on Netflix? The answers just got a little clearer.

Today at the Television Critics Association press tour, the Chief Content Officer of Netflix, Ted Sarandos, confirmed that we will be seeing Jessica Jones streaming on-demand this fall.  While this has been widely speculated since the series started filming in NYC, this is the first time that Netflix has confirmed those suspicions.  While they stopped shy of actually announcing a premier date, it is safe to assume that it will be around November or December.

Netflix and Marvel hit it out of the park with the release of Daredevil. But I'm glad we are going to have another Strong Female Character joining the ranks of Peggy Carter in the Marvel television landscape.

And she's bringing another SFC with her, with the addition of Rachel Taylor as Trish Walker (aka. Patricia "Patsy" Walker, aka Hellcat).

The future father of her child Luke Cage played by Mike Cotler.

David Tennet as Zebediah Killgrave (aka. The Purple Man).

And Carrie Anne Moss as a powerful woman and possible ally to Jessica Jones.

It was also teased that we should expect a new season or new series every 6 months, all leading to The Defenders mini-series once all four shows have premiered. It's an ambitious slate, and I'm excited to see them pull it off.  What are your thoughts? Are you excited, scared, bored?  Leave a comment below.
