Masterworks Theater Company's Inaugural Season continues with William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. June is the perfect time for some summer loving in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Set in a modern day playground, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, directed by Tamilla Woodard, riffs on the culture of uber celebrity where one couple, Oberon and Tatiana are more like the Kanye and Kim of the fairy world. As they fight their immense celebrity, power creates a hysterical ripple effect in the mortal world. Magic, mixed messages, misunderstandings lead lovers awry and will leave the audience questioning which wedding we'll attend before the story ends! Shakespeare has never been as fun and accessible as in this exhilarating new production. A Midsummer Night's Dream runs June 5th through June 28th
William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is preceded by Tennessee Williams’ The Glass Menagerie. The Glass Menagerie tells the universal story of a Southern single mother striving to secure a future for her two grown children. While her cripplingly shy daughter escapes to a world of glass, her aspiring writer son dreams of a world beyond the confines of St. Louis. Any hope of salvation is pinned on the visit of a "Gentleman Caller" for the girl, but it seems he may only shatter their fragile fantasies. This production runs from May 8th to May 30th.
